Installation
No drilling is needed, but care is. The usual problem is not the panel — it is a badly prepared surface and haste while bonding.
Four steps
The order is the same on every vehicle. Exact dimensions and bonding points come from the manufacturer's instructions supplied with the kit.
1. Prepare the hood
Wash, degrease, check ambient temperature. The paint must be dry and clean.
2. Film and fasteners
Apply the TPU film, then the mating half of the SolarClasp™ fasteners at the points given in the instructions.
3. Cable
Route the cable into the engine bay through existing grommets. No new holes.
4. Controller, then battery
Connect the MPPT controller first and the battery after — in that order.
We do not quote a fitting time in minutes. It depends on the vehicle, on practice and on whether the cable has an easy route. Any number here would be a guess.
What not to do
A few things ruin the installation permanently, and all of them are avoidable.
Bonding in cold or dust
The adhesive will not cure. Fixing it means peeling the film and starting again.
Wiring the panel straight to the battery
With no controller. The quickest way to destroy the battery.
Moving the fastener points by eye
The points follow the panel's geometry. Shifting them changes the stress in the laminate.

Will you fit the panel for me?
Write or call — we agree it case by case. We do not print a labour price or lead time here, because both depend on the vehicle and on what exactly is to be done.
Does fitting void my vehicle's paint warranty?
We do not know your manufacturer's warranty terms and will not speculate about them. The system is designed not to disturb the bodywork — the TPU film separates the adhesive from the paint. On a vehicle under factory warranty, check the terms with your dealer.
Can everything be removed without a trace?
The panel and the fasteners, yes, without tools. The TPU film is removed separately; the manufacturer provides for its removal, but the result depends on the condition of the paint and how long the film has been on. We are not promising an outcome we cannot guarantee.
